CURRENT ECOLOGICAL STATE OF THE AZOV-SYVASH NATIONAL NATURE PARK

Abstract

The article deals with current ecological condition and natural features of the Azov-Syvash National Nature Park, the essence of the nature reserve fund is analyzed. The territory of the park is located within the bounds of a large flight path, and numerous flocks of birds stop here to rest during migrations, 67 rare and endangered species are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. In different seasons of the year 224 species of birds live in the National Nature Park. 48 species of animals of them are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, such as a great jerboa, an Azov dolphin, a steppe viper, as well as two types of hydroid polyps, one species of annelids and crustaceans. Extended field studies allowed to identify 9 species of insects registered in the official endangered species lists, 7 of these species were introduced in the Red Book of Ukraine and 2 species in the European Red List. The flora of vascular plants of the Azov-Syvash National Nature Park includes 797 species. The analysis of flora shows that it consists of 35 genera. In particular, 25 species of plants are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, and 22 of these species are found only in the south in Ukraine. Thus, the territory of the Azov-Syvash National Nature Park includes unique natural landscapes with significant phytodiversity and zoodiversity. The territory is favorable for cultural and educational, environmental and education activities.
